Upside-Down Caramelised Banana Slice
You will need...
1 packet Green’s Divine Banana Cake Mix
2 eggs
2 tablespoons golden syrup
150mL milk
60g unsalted butter
3/4 cup (120g) lightly packed brown sugar
60g butter or margarine, softened
3 just-ripe bananas, sliced on the diagonal
Preheat
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C for fan forced). Grease 33cm x 23cm cake pan.
Caramel Bananas
Add butter to a large fry pan and melt over low heat. Stir in sugar until combined.
Add bananas and cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Set aside.
Lift bananas out of remaining syrup. Reserve syrup for pouring over warm when serving.
Mix
To a mixing bowl add cake mix, eggs, soft butter or margarine and milk. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Top with caramel bananas.
Bake
Bake for 35 – 40 minutes at 180°C (160°C for fan forced) or until cake is golden
Enjoy
Serve warm with remaining sauce.
