Triple Choc Hazelnut Brownie

The simplest and tastiest Christmas treat everyone will love!


Serves 9

Preparation Time:  5 minutes
Baking Time: 35 minutes


For the brownie, you will need:

1 x 20cm round cake tin
Green’s Triple Choc Fudge Brownie
2 eggs
½ cup (125g) butter, melted
½ cup Coles Hazelnuts, chopped

For decorations, you will need:

9 x mini Candy Canes
1 x piping bag, or press-seal bag
A selection of Christmas sprinkles
1 cup White Cooking Chocolate
Green food colouring


1. Preheat oven to 160°C fan forced (180°C without fan). Grease and line the sides and base of cake tin with baking paper.

2. Place brownie mix into a mixing bowl, add eggs and melted butter. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined. Add in hazelnuts and gently fold through the brownie mixture.

3. Transfer mixture into prepared cake tin, spreading evenly to the edge of the pan.

4. Bake for 35 minutes (32 minutes for a dense and gooey brownie, or 37 minutes for a classic, fudge brownie).

5. Allow brownie to cool in tin before inverting onto a cooling rack.

6. Once cooled, cut brownie into 9 even triangles.

7. Break off the curved end of the candy cane and insert the straight end into the base of the brownie to make the tree trunk.

8. Place white chocolate into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 10-30 second intervals, stirring between each one, until chocolate has completely melted. Optional: Add green colouring to chocolate and stir through.

9. White chocolate can be piped or drizzled.

Piping: For piping, place chocolate into a piping bag or a press seal bag and push to one corner. Using scissors, cut      the corner of press seal bag. With the bag upright, squeeze the piping bag and decorate the tops of each brownie triangle with chocolate.

Drizzle: To drizzle, use a teaspoon of melted chocolate, moving hand back and forward over the brownie allowing the melted chocolate to drizzle in your desired pattern.

10. Decorate the brownie trees with sprinkles before white chocolate sets.
